Simplicity Health: Making Exercise Easy - Win-Win Home Accessory

Yes, I AM talking about the Rebounder! My dad was always interested in healthy gadgets and when the Rebounder came to our house in the 80's there were constant fights about  being on it - my brothers and I loved it.

Yes, I AM talking about the Rebounder! My dad was always interested in healthy gadgets and when the Rebounder came to our house in the 80's there were constant fights about  being on it - my brothers and I loved it.

Fast forward to January 1st,  2000 and my dad is doing everything he can to convince me to pack it up and put it in the back of Brent's dads small bright yellow pickup truck with the rest of our belongings as we head from Vancouver to our new life in Canmore. It didn't make it into the packed to the hilt pickup but it was my house warming gift when my parents rolled in in their camper that summer. My dad doesn't quit easily.

Well, that Rebounder somehow escaped the last 14 years of garage sales and spring cleaning trips to the Thrift Store (probably because it was buried so deep in storage) and this last year as   I was moving out there it was - dusty and unloved. I'm not sure what came over me but all of a sudden it felt like I had room in my home for this and I haven't looked back. The health benefits are huge (immune system, circulation, stress) - and we use it regularly because its there - the kids bounce on it in the am before school and being on my own now its an easy way for me to get some exercise in before the kids get up.

Take home message: don't pass this up at the next garage sale - gentle, powerful and - it turns out - fun!

What do you do to incorporate healthy movement in your life?

Erika and Lanny left this pull up bar and i'm amazed at what 1 minute a day on this is doing for the strength in my arms. I can do a pull up!
