Top 10 Love Toys for Christmas
Oh this is so not what some of you are thinking - I'm adding this here line in to the top of this already finished article because I really had no intention of misleading you with the title - it's just the name that came to me for these toys 😂.
These are toys for your kids! 😍
Most of these are toys that my children use time and time again, they have become one thing one day/year and another another ... they have made it past the day after christmas and past many more christmases as well. And they are made from natural materials, often made locally and are beautiful. I love these toys because often when the children are playing with/using them when they are deep in their creative play ... it's like a underground mmmmm to me ---pure presence. I've mentioned this before to you to some of you - the study where the same areas of the brain that are enlarged in monks who meditate a lot (the centers associated with joy and compassion and love) are lit up when children are in deep uninterrupted play - so that is why I am referring to these as love toys - the play they engage kids in enlarges their capacity for compassion and love.Nuf said, here they are …
1. A story made by or told by you just for them - join us for the workshop where we create a story for Christmas for your child/children.
2. Silks - www.naturalpod.com www.novanaturals.com
3. Big drawing book and good quality crayons and pencil crayons
4. Wooden push cart
5. Wagon
6. Wooden Blocks of different sizes
7. Doll - for boys and girls - simpler the better the younger they are. And soft is nicer too I think - feels good. If you like to sew, making a simple doll is simple (if I can do it! ... ) and it's a real treasure.
8. Play doh - no need to blow the budget on toys my friends - playdoh can turn into whatever toy/character your child is needing for his/her play!
9. Learning Tower - if you have more than 1 child or have children over a lot this is fantastic. They can be right up close to the counter and they'll be completely safe. It can turn into a fort, store, you name it.
10. Nature - time in nature feels good for all of us - Dave’s forest play program is a great support for us to get our children out in nature having fun - like we used to do as kids ... really being comfortable hanging out and playing in nature. This would make a great gift for Christmas from a relative who asks what your child would like for Christmas - they could buy a session/season of forest play or you could have several relatives go in on buying it and then send photos from your child's adventures during the season. 403 678-0101 for more info!
